Heirlooms

This was my rocking chair when I was little and that is the blanket his Aunt Mary made him. It certainly makes it worthwhile that I took this with me on all my moves. He's really into hauling it around the house and trying to sit in it.

17 months!

When you are close to the ground, you notice every little thing. Rocks, leaves, sticks, various wrappers and discarded trash are key items of interest!

.........he's off!

Thank goodness spring has finally arrived, this boy loves, loves, loves to be outside. I'm already gearing up mentally for the challenge of keeping him out of the sun this summer. It's going to be interesting.

Where's Dad?

This video illustrates a new hand gesture Miles has started using. The multipurpose 'where is it?' sign. He started doing it on his own, haven't noticed either of us using it, so I guess it really is a universal sign. Certainly gets the point across! In this scene, Craig is hiding around the corner to get Miles to ponder....where is daddy?

Zoo

Russin and Leah invited us to join them on a zoo outing. It was still a little chilly, so the zoo was pretty empty. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the baby elephant, but all the indoor exhibits provided a lot of entertainment. Leah was far more interested in actually looking at the animals. Miles was just thrilled to be running around in a new place, although he did stop once or twice for a wildlife encounter (you'll see examples of both in the videos at the bottom)!

A little trick

An unfortunate meeting with the sidewalk resulted in this mark on his forehead. This is why I am trying to develop nerves of steel, but I don't know that I'll ever get there.
