Fifteen week update

As all babies do, Miles continues to grow at a crazy pace! He is now officially wearing 6 month clothing and it's even starting to get a little tight. I'm afraid he may have inherited my long torso AND Craig's long legs! At least he'll never have to shop for a one piece swimming suit! :-)

The discovery of the world around him continues to delight. He loves to look around, soaking it all in. He is also continuing to master grasping objects and putting them straight into his mouth.

Nap time has turned a corner. I discovered at a LaLeche league meeting that he could indeed fall asleep without an elaborate soothing ritual. (he fell asleep sitting on my lap while watching all the action) This led to an experiment with putting him down in his crib while still awake and seeing if he could fall asleep. So far, so good. He's doing great with his morning nap and then all the following naps are hit or miss. Which is fine by me-he's slowly maturing into a nap routine, which is lovely. But, there's no great rush. And, the bonus of falling asleep on his own, means it's easier for him to put him self back to sleep when he wakes up too soon-at least, that's the theory. It's been working here and there and his naps are finally stretching beyond 20 to 30 minutes!

All in all, we're in a nice calm moment in his development and we're enjoying it before he moves into his next big transition. The smiles are amazing and he loves to kick and wiggle now too!

Big night out

On our way to a wedding reception. Miles did great-spent the whole time looking around, taking it all in.
